A Disney Wedding

This past weekend, we were in Orlando, Florida, for the wedding of our good friends, Johnny and Naomi. Overall, it was a great trip. Unfortunately, Enrique woke up in the wee hours of the night before we left for Florida with a fever. After some tylenol, he was doing much better, so we decided to risk it and go. Thankfully, little man fell asleep on the plane on the way to Florida, so the trip there wasn't bad, except for the fact that we were pretty tired :-)

The rehearsal dinner was wonderful. Enrique had a great time, as he loves to watch other kids, especially older kids, and there were two boys that he had such a great time watching. He was able to roam, walk, run, and laugh, so he was a happy camper. The food was great and the company even better. Needless to say, by the end of the night, we were beat and ready for bed!

The next morning, we fought with the lines at the food court of the resort we were staying at for breakfast, and ate yummy waffles in the shape of Mickey Mouse's head. Thanks to the urging of my sister Valerie, we all got into our bathing suits and spent some time by the pool. Enrique and I opted to watch Valerie and Jose from outside the pool as I didn't want to tempt his fever to come back. He seemed to enjoy that just fine.

The wedding itself was beautiful. Unfortunately, Enrique wasn't too keen on staying seated, so we took him out to the foyer area of the church and watched from out there. The good thing about that is that we were the first to greet the happy couple as they came out of the church :-) Naomi looked beautiful in her gown, and Johnny looked quite handsome in his tux.

We all boarded the buses to the Grand Floridian hotel of Disney. The ballroom was decorated beautifully, the food was excellent, the cake beautiful and tastey, and we all hit the dance floor as if we might never dance again! Enrique loved the dancing--he is quite a dancer himself, although he opted for more of a "mommy can dance while she holds on to me." Jose even had a dance off with one of the ring-bearers.

Although we had such a good time at the wedding, we were really happy when our heads hit the pillows of our own beds at home the next night...I think I'm still trying to recover from all of the fun we had!
